Welcome! Pack 169 is an established Cub Scout pack based at Green Valley Elementary School in Monrovia, MD, chartered by the Urbana Recreation Council and serving local families for over 35 years. New Scouts are welcome to join any time of year.
Who can join
Cub Scouts is for children in kindergarten through 5th grade, boys and girls. Your child joins a den, a small group of Scouts in the same grade, and all the dens together make up the Pack.

- Tiger: 1st grade
- Wolf: 2nd grade
- Bear: 3rd grade
- Webelos: 4th grade
- Arrow of Light: 5th grade
When we meet
The whole Pack meets on the first Wednesday of most months, 6:30–7:30 PM at Green Valley Elementary School. Scouts wear their Class A uniform and families are welcome. Individual dens also meet on their own schedule. Throughout the year we add campouts, the Pinewood Derby, the Blue & Gold Banquet, hikes, and service projects like Scouting for Food. What a first meeting looks like
Come as you are, no uniform needed for your first visit. You will meet the Cubmaster and other families, your child will join in the activities, and we will help you with next steps. There is no pressure to commit on the spot.
What to wear
New families do not need a full uniform on day one. When you are ready, our Uniform & Shopping List shows exactly what to buy by grade. We focus on participation, so official pants are optional.
Cost
Pack dues are $150 for the first Scout, or $125 each for families with more than one Scout. There are also one-time national and council registration fees paid to Scouting America when you sign up.
